802-8G lead repair?

Has anyone repaired their own 802-8G diaphragm when the lead breaks? The voice coil appares to be in good shape, just the lead is broken - mechanical failure. Can this simply be soldered back together? I am thinking it will just break again at the solider if I push the driver again.

Any ideas?

You could try to repair the broken lead, maybe you get lucky and it holds. Those leads are very fine and delicate, its gonna be tough to repair.

Most likely you'll need a new diaphragm from Bill at Great Plains Audio.
